Job summary

QED is seeking an Industrial Inside Sales Representative to strengthen relations with customers by phone and in person, understand sales territory needs, and record orders for delivery. The role emphasizes accurate quoting, timely follow-up, and coordination with credit, warehouse, outside sales and management to ensure smooth order processing.

The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and math skills, comfort with Microsoft Office and company systems, and a customer-first attitude

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret business periodicals and technical procedures.
• Strong presentation skills for managers, clients, and customers.
• Mathematical ability and accuracy in calculations.
• Knowledge of company computer systems and processes.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with customers by phone or in person to receive orders.
• Solicit sale of new or additional products.
• Maintain professional relationships with customers and co-workers; use courteous telephone etiquette.
• Liaise between customers and departments (credit, purchasing, warehouse, sales, management).
• Determine product needs using catalogs and pricing references.
• Make calls to regular and prospective customers to solicit orders.
• Describe or demonstrate products using samples or catalogs and emphasize features.
• Prepare quotations and price/status information for orders.
• Process sales tickets with required details and timely delivery.
• Follow up on quotations to secure orders and gather input for future quotes.
• Handle customer issues diplomatically and resolve problems promptly.
• Develop product knowledge to assist customers and internal teams.
