Job summary

Advansix is seeking an Instrumentation-Electrical Technician in Virginia Beach to diagnose, service, troubleshoot and repair instrument and electrical systems. You will maintain motor control circuits, power supplies, and PLCs/DCS hardware, ensuring safe operation and compliance with electrical codes.

The role requires reading complex drawings, performing preventive maintenance, and coordinating with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Read/interpret electrical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic, instrumentation drawings and schematics
• Demonstrated knowledge of PLCs and CNCs
• Experience with 480 Volt MCC and Power Distribution Systems
• Ability to read, write, speak and comprehend English
• Demonstrated mechanical troubleshooting skills
• Proficient with requisite software applications

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot critical equipment upon failure
• Install, troubleshoot, maintain and repair PLC and/or DCS hardware, software and controls
• Repair instrumentation and control devices (pressure, flow, level temperature)
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance
• Move and set up equipment as needed
