Job summary

CDM Smith seeks an Intermediate Construction Professional to support field operations on client projects nationwide. The role emphasizes field engineering, site administration, design review, scheduling, safety, and quality control under general supervision, with work conducted from field or office as needed.

Qualified candidates will have construction management exposure and a track record coordinating subcontractors, maintaining records, and producing progress and daily reports.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent plus nine (9) years of relevant experience
• Associate degree plus six (6) years of relevant experience
• Bachelor’s degree plus three (3) years of relevant experience. The associate or bachelor's degree must be in Construction Management, Engineering, or related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Assist and coordinate with the site construction lead on field operations including scheduling, daily/quality reports, conformance to drawings and specifications, and communication with subcontractors.
• Oversee subcontractors and construction to ensure safety, quality, and alignment with drawings.
• Ensure work adheres to project schedule; escalate delays to Project Construction Manager.
• Prepare Daily Reports and Quality Inspection Reports as records.
• Take progress photos and label each photograph.
• Assist with Monthly Progress Reports.
• Ensure contractors use the latest design drawing revisions.
• Support Project Construction Manager as needed.
• May supervise key trades/subcontractors in support of the project.
• Prepare contract extras and progress payments for client approval.
• Maintain clear, professional correspondence with project management and clients.
• Maintain on-site records per CDM Smith requirements.
• Understand and follow CDM Smith Quality Policy and procedures.
• Note travel: 100% in the field.
