Job summary

CDM Smith seeks an Intermediate Construction Professional to work in the field at client project sites, performing field engineering, site administration, estimating, and quality control under general supervision.

The role involves coordinating with site leads, supervising subcontractors, and ensuring adherence to schedules, drawings, and safety practices on heavy industrial projects. Travel is 100%.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent plus nine (9) years of relevant experience.
• Associate degree plus six (6) years of relevant experience.
• Bachelor’s degree plus three (3) years of relevant experience. The associate or bachelor's degree must be in Construction Management, Engineering, or related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Assists site construction lead with overall field operations, including scheduling, daily/reports, and quality control.
• Oversees subcontractors and construction to ensure safety, quality, and adherence to drawings.
• Ensures work aligns with project schedule; escalates delays to Project Construction Manager.
• Writes Daily Reports and Quality Inspection Reports.
• Takes progress photographs of construction events and labels them.
• Assists with Monthly Progress Reports.
• Ensures contractors use the latest design revision for construction.
• May assist Project Construction Manager or be responsible for key trade/subcontractor support.
• Prepares contract extras and progress payments for client approval with Project Manager.
• Maintains clear, professional correspondence with project management and clients.
• Maintains on-site records per The Perry Group requirements.
• Follows Quality Policy and Quality Systems Work Instruction.
