Job summary

SSOE is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join our Industrial Facilities Design team in resolving day-to-day project tasks, budgets, and schedules across multiple US locations including Lima, OH. You will support Battery/Complex Projects Operations and the PM Team, contributing to client communications and proposals.

The role requires a engineering degree (licensure qualified) or an engineering-related associate, CAPM encouraged, and at least 1–3 years of relevant experience with travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Engineering qualifies for licensure in the state of practice or an Associate degree in the engineering field is preferred.
• CAPM Certification is encouraged.
• A minimum one (1) year experience as an Engineer 1 or a minimum three (3) years related experience.
• Travel required.
• Good facilitator with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experienced in the following software packages: Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and CADD.
• Valid driver's license required. May be waived for international assignments.

Responsibilities

• Assist Sr. Project Managers and/or Project Manager with day to day project tasks, staffing to fee, work plans, schedules, budgets, etc.
• Assist in preparing project plans, budgets, control procedures, etc.
• Manage small and/or low-complexity projects under supervision.
• Audit client billings for Project Manager approval.
• May be the primary communication link between project teams, consultants and outsourcing partners.
• Follow established procedures to administer project, including construction cost estimating, correspondence, documents controls, etc.
• Communicate client's requirements to each discipline.
• Participates in client contact and business development activities.
• Participate in preparing proposals including leading low-complexity proposals.
• Assist in the collection of past due accounts.
• May assist in training of other Assistant Project Managers or project team members.
• May attend client meetings to take meeting minutes and distribute.
• Assist in logging RFI, submittals, filing and weekly reports.
• Assist in coordinating meetings and document control with client, contractors, agencies.
• May travel to other SSOE offices or client locations for coordination or training.
• Coordinate printing and distribution of construction documents for bids.
• Coordinate completion and distribution of as-recorded drawings and close out documents.
• Occasional travel may be required.
