Job summary

SSOE is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join our Industrial Facilities Design team. The role supports Battery/Complex Projects Operations and the Project Management Team, and can be based out of several US offices including Hillsboro, OR.

This position offers opportunities to work on diverse industrial projects, with a focus on coordination, budgeting, and client relations, in a collaborative, employee-owned culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Engineering or an Associate degree in the engineering field is preferred.
• CAPM Certification is encouraged.
• A minimum one (1) year experience as an Engineer 1 or a minimum three (3) years related experience.
• Travel required.
• Valid driver's license required. May be waived for international assignments.

Responsibilities

• Assist Sr. Project Managers with day to day project tasks, staffing to fee, work plans, schedules, budgets, etc.
• Assist in preparing project plans, budgets, control procedures, etc.
• Manage small and/or low-complexity projects under supervision.
• Audits client billings for Project Manager approval.
• May be the primary communication link between project teams and outsourcing partners.
• Follow established procedures to administer projects including cost estimating and document controls.
• Communicate client requirements to each discipline.
• Participate in client contact and business development activities.
• Assist in preparing proposals including low-complexity proposals.
• Help in collecting past due accounts.
• May train other Assistant Project Managers.
• Attend client meetings to take minutes and prepare distributions.
• Assist in logging RFI, submittals, filing and weekly reports.
• Coordinate meetings and document control with client, contractors and agencies.
• May travel to other offices or client locations.
