Job summary

SSOE Group is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join our Industrial Facilities Design team. The role supports Facilities Battery/Complex Projects and the Project Management Team, with options to be based in various U.S. offices including Austin.

You will assist Sr. PMs with day-to-day tasks, budgeting, scheduling, and document controls, while coordinating with clients, consultants, and contractors. Travel is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Engineering or Associate degree with licensure eligibility preferred.
• CAPM certification is encouraged.
• Minimum one year experience as Engineer 1 or three years related experience.
• Travel is required.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient with MS Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and CADD.

Responsibilities

• Assist Sr. Project Managers with day-to-day tasks, staffing to fee, work plans, schedules, budgets.
• Assist in preparing project plans, budgets, control procedures and related docs.
• Manage small/low-complexity projects under supervision.
• Audit client billings for PM approval.
• Be primary communication link between project teams, consultants and outsourcing partners.
• Follow procedures for construction cost estimating, documents controls, etc.
• Convey client requirements to each discipline.
• Participate in client meetings, proposals, and new business activities.
• Assist in collecting past due accounts and in training others.
• Coordinate meetings and document flow with client, contractors, and regulators.
• Travel to other SSOE offices or client locations as needed.
