Job summary

RTX is seeking an Industrial Engineer intern/full-time through the OSCQ Excellence organization in Tucson, AZ. You will work on capacity planning, line balancing, and process modeling to improve manufacturing throughput and efficiency.

You will apply Six Sigma and Lean principles, support cost, quality, and on-time delivery objectives, and gain exposure to leadership while contributing to real factory improvements in a secure government environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor's or advanced degree in Industrial Engineering/Technology, Systems Engineering, or closely related engineering major and actively enrolled through completion of the internship / co-op session.
• Must have a minimum of 60 hours of credit by the start of the internship / co-op session.
• Experience with Industrial Engineering processes and tools.
• Experience with Microsoft Office tools.
• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
• Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.

Responsibilities

• Identify throughput constraints by performing capacity, simulation, what-if scenario analysis
• Drive factory improvement project priorities through the use of analytical tools.
• Coordinate factory capability needs for yield improvements and new technology.
• Identify and participate in improvement projects to support constraint elimination
• Apply Six Sigma and Lean Principles to include the use of value stream maps, line balancing, and error proofing
• Support manufacturing objectives for cost, quality, on time delivery and safety
