Job summary

RTX is hosting an Industrial Engineering internship in its OSCQ Excellence organization at the Tucson site. You will explore capacity planning, line balancing, and process modeling to improve throughput and efficiency in the manufacturing environment.

The program emphasizes Six Sigma, lean principles, and real project work that drives value across cost, quality, and delivery. A U.S. citizenship security clearance is required, with on‑site collaboration and leadership exposure.

Qualifications

• Must be pursuing a bachelor's or advanced degree in Industrial Engineering/Technology, Systems Engineering, or closely related engineering major and actively enrolled through completion of the internship / co‑op session.
• Must have a minimum of 60 hours of credit by the start of the internship / co‑op session.
• Experience with Industrial Engineering processes and tools.
• Experience with Microsoft Office tools.
• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Identify throughput constraints by performing capacity, simulation, what-if scenario analysis.
• Drive factory improvement project priorities through the use of analytical tools.
• Coordinate factory capability needs for yield improvements and new technology.
• Identify and participate in improvement projects to support constraint elimination.
• Apply Six Sigma and Lean Principles to include the use of value stream maps, line balancing, and error proofing.
• Support manufacturing objectives for cost, quality, on time delivery and safety.
