Job summary

RTX invites aspiring Industrial Engineering students to join its internship program in East Hartford. You will gain hands-on exposure to manufacturing processes, data analysis, and continuous improvement projects across multiple production disciplines.

Successful candidates will apply lean methods, learn standard work, and contribute to capacity planning and process optimizations while interfacing with experienced engineers and management.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate degree program at the time of the assignment.
• Eligible majors include Industrial and System Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA.
• Knowledge of manufacturing and assembly processes.
• Data mining & manipulation experience with Excel, VBA, SQL, other methods.
• Prior RTX internship, co-op, or work experience.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate operations and identify improvement opportunities, utilizing data analysis and metrics.
• Review and analyze work cell layout, process flow, material flow, to establish standard work.
• Conduct labor and machine capacity analysis to identify improvements.
• Maintain and update time standards for established operations.
• Learn application of Manufacturing Standard work Cell Design and Lean principles.
