Job summary

GEODIS is hiring an Industrial Engineer II focusing on Labor Management Systems in Fontana, CA. This role develops labor standards, analyzes data, and creates reports to boost warehouse productivity. Travel may be up to 50% as initiatives are implemented with operations teams.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in engineering and 2+ years of related experience, including time-study methods such as MOST or MTM, and strong communication and analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum 1 year of experience using engineered work measurement methods (such as MOST, MSD, Time Study, MTM).
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports, technical procedures and governmental regulations.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to effectively communicate process and technical concepts to a variety of audiences.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations with limited standardization.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Responsibilities

• Establishes labor standards or reasonable expectancies and maintains labor management system to ensure accurate goal times for warehouse jobs
• Identifies savings opportunities and defines process improvement projects to drive costs out of operations
• Creates and maintains informational and graphical reports for field operations to drive labor productivity
• Works with warehouse operations teams to educate on how standards work and how to use labor-management information to increase productivity
• Participates in the implementation of new business initiatives by assisting initiative owner with data collection and analyzes initiatives to anticipate possible roadblocks and identify possible solutions
• Conducts root cause analysis and develops data analysis tools to assist operation management
• Travels up to 50% of the time
