Job summary

General Motors is seeking an Industrial Engineer / Ergonomist to collaborate with Production, Global Supply Chain, Manufacturing Engineering, Plant Safety, and UAW leadership to improve plant performance while safeguarding health and safety.

The role blends industrial engineering, lean material strategy, ergonomics, and standardized work to remove non-value-added tasks, cut ergonomic risk, and boost productivity across current operations, launches, and future-state plans.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • At least 2 years in industrial engineering or ergonomics in manufacturing or assembly.
  • Experience conducting time studies, motion analysis, or ergonomic risk assessments.

Responsibilities

  • Implement IE practices and processes in assigned areas.
  • Execute Lean Material Strategies to improve material flow and reduce waste.
  • Design and improve work operations meeting safety, quality, ergonomic, delivery requirements.
  • Conduct manpower time studies and apply standard time data in GMOS/APS.
