Job summary

General Motors LLC is seeking an Industrial Engineer / Ergonomist to partner across Production, Global Supply Chain, Manufacturing Engineering and safety teams. This onsite role focuses on lean material strategy, ergonomics, and standardized work to cut waste, reduce risk, and boost productivity in current and future manufacturing operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 2 years in industrial engineering or ergonomics within a manufacturing setting.
  • Experience with time studies, motion analysis or ergonomic risk assessments.
  • Ability to organize, plan and execute projects while managing multiple priorities and onsite hours.

Responsibilities

  • Industrial Engineering: implement standard practices; apply Lean Material Strategies to improve flow and reduce waste.
  • Design and improve work operations meeting safety, quality and efficiency goals.
  • Conduct manpower time studies using motion analysis and standard data.
  • Maintain part routings and area layouts using AutoCAD; analyze bottlenecks for throughput and cost.
  • Coach lean methods and problem-solving on the production floor.
