Job summary

Hargrove Engineers & Constructors in New Johnsonville, TN, is seeking an Electrical Designer with 2+ years of experience to perform complete electrical/instrumentation design at an industrial facility. You will work under supervision to develop detailed drawings and deliverables for power, lighting, and control systems.

Ideal candidates have an associate degree in engineering technology or CAD, knowledge of NEC, and proficiency in AutoCAD and MicroStation.

Qualifications

• Requires an Associate degree in Engineering Technology or CAD.
• 2+ years of relevant electrical/instrumentation drafting and design.
• Familiarity with NEC and electrical design standards.
• Ability to size wires, conduits and overcurrent protection.
• Ability to perform voltage drop calculations and lighting level calculations.
• Proficient in 2D AutoCAD and Microstation; 3D AutoCAD desirable.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Knowledge of workflow between disciplines and project scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical/instrumentation assignments from concepts to drawings.
• Produce installation details, MCC single lines, cable schedules and grounding plans.
• Prepare lighting, power, and instrumentation layouts under supervision.
• Assist in startup on-site at client facilities.
• Ensure design changes are communicated promptly.
