Job summary

AvaHR is seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance & Controls Technician in South Carolina to support maintenance, troubleshooting, installation, and commissioning of production equipment.

This hands-on role blends industrial controls, electrical troubleshooting, instrumentation, and mechanical maintenance on PLC/DCS environments, conveyors, gearboxes, hydraulics, pneumatics, and rotating equipment.

Qualifications

• DCS architecture experience.
• PLC troubleshooting experience.
• Hydraulic and pneumatic systems familiarity.
• Gearbox and conveyor rebuilds experience.
• Rotating equipment maintenance knowledge.
• Industrial networking and communications experience.
• Instrumentation and process-control calibration.
• Reading electrical/mechanical schematics and drawings.
• Troubleshooting automated manufacturing or processing equipment.

Responsibilities

• Follow all safety policies and regulations.
• Install, test, commission, and release equipment into production with Engineering.
• Troubleshoot and maintain industrial production, processing, and conveyor systems.
• Troubleshoot PLCs and DCS architectures.
• Support industrial networking (EtherNet/IP, ControlNet, DeviceNet).
• Troubleshoot and repair AC drives/VFDs, motors, encoders, and resolvers.
• Calibrate and troubleshoot flow, level, pressure, and temperature devices and control loops.
• Perform maintenance on bearings, conveyors, gearboxes, and rotating equipment.
• Perform gearbox and conveyor rebuilds as required.
• Repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Industrial maintenance welding tasks.
• Document activities in CMMS.
• Read blueprints and electrical/mechanical drawings.
• Inspect equipment for wear and potential failure.
• Operate tools and welding equipment safely.
