Job summary

CommScope in Claremont, NC is seeking a Technician II, Maintenance-HVAC & Facilities to install, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment. You will troubleshoot PLCs, drives, and controls, and ensure safety standards are followed in a hands-on, team-based environment.

This role emphasizes electrical/technical problem solving, with 5-day shifts from 8am to 4pm. A strong foundation in HVAC, R&M, and plant systems is required, along with a safety-first mindset.

Qualifications

• 2 years of manufacturing experience with PLCs/HMIs/VFDs controlling process and automation equipment.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience with AC/DC/VFD drives.
• Good mechanical skill set.
• Electrical certification.
• Military experience and training may substitute industrial experience.
• Valid Driver’s license.
• High School diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair electro-mechanical malfunctions using test equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, laptops).
• Read electrical drawings and schematics to install and repair equipment.
• Maintain, solve problems, and repair PLCs, AC/DC drives, and motor/drive controls.
• Follow safety procedures (Lock-Out/Tag-Out) and NEC/NFPA codes.
• Maintain PM records for plant equipment and support in-house training.
