Job summary

Carolina Container in High Point, NC, is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The role requires strong hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and some PLC/HVAC experience, along with a track record of performing preventive maintenance and emergency repairs. Candidates should be able to work a flexible schedule and operate safely around moving machinery.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience.
• Must be 18 years of age
• Four plus years of manufacturing experience; strong hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and industrial skills with some PLC experience and HVAC.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule
• Prior work experience in the corrugated industry.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
• Team-oriented and self-directed.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s equipment.
• Demonstrate ability to parallel all rolls, make all required settings and adjustments for optimum equipment performance to manufacture quality products.
• Demonstrate ability to troubleshoot programmable controllers and troubleshoot and repair all A/C and D/C drives and their control systems use.
• Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
• Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
• Maximize the utilization of equipment by maintaining the machinery to run at available capacity and speed.
• Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities.
• Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
• Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
• Special projects as business dictate.
• Duties may be expanded upon and additional duties may be assigned.
