Job summary

Pridgeon & Clay, Inc. is seeking a Controls Engineer to design, program, and validate machine controls. You will work with maintenance, engineering, and production to ensure high-quality equipment and processes, using AutoCAD for drawings and PLCs for control systems.

You will lead design and debugging activities, maintain documentation, and mentor maintenance staff while supporting lean initiatives and ISO-based standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Experience with electrical trouble-shooting and electrical maintenance on equipment.
• Ability to read electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic drawings and manuals.
• PLC programming and troubleshooting experience.
• Knowledge of Allen-Bradley PLCs and Rockwell software (RSLogix 500/5/5000) and Panelbuild32.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Project and PowerPoint.
• Strong teamwork and dependable attendance.

Responsibilities

• Conduct/coordinate the machine debug, power-up, and machine validation with build and electrical teams.
• Design and program electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic subsystems for new machine builds.
• Ensure equipment meets build specifications using standard techniques and practices.
• Develop a plan to keep hardware/software up-to-date and manage obsolescence.
• Produce drawings with AutoCAD and maintain drawing standards and libraries.
• Utilize maintenance management system to order parts and track costs.
• Provide training and mentorship to Maintenance personnel.
• Document projects for traceability and update PLC/HMI programs on existing machines.
