Job summary

Precision Castparts in Groton, CT seeks an Electrical Controls Engineer to design, implement, maintain and improve electrical controls systems, automation equipment, and industrial data systems used across manufacturing. You will support operations, quality, engineering and capital projects to ensure safe and efficient operation and drive productivity and quality improvements.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering with 3+ years of controls experience, familiarity with PLCs

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in electrical engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of controls experience preferred.
• Experience with industrial robots (FANUC and Kawasaki preferred).
• Strong understanding of PLC ladder logic, programming methods, and process related control systems.
• Experience with PLC programming (Rockwell Studio 5000 preferred).
• Experience with integration of devices to SCADA systems (Ignition knowledge a plus).
• SQL/Oracle experience a plus; ability to read electrical schematics.
• Able to work independently and in a team; strong problem solving and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, program, modify, maintain and support PLC, HMI, SCADA and industrial control systems
• Work with operations, engineering, and plant staff regarding equipment capabilities to develop and implement new systems
• Respond to production issues with rapid diagnosis and corrective actions
• Analyze production and process data to identify improvements
• Specify and integrate sensors, drives, instrumentation and process controllers
• Develop equipment specifications, performance requirements and cost analyses
• Assist with installation and commissioning of new equipment
• Develop and maintain electrical schematics and controls documentation
• Configure and maintain industrial networks including Ethernet/IP and Modbus
