Job summary

The Weitz Company is seeking a Seasoned Project Manager II to lead industrial construction initiatives in Des Moines. You will guide project teams, manage scopes, and drive risk assessment and cost control across multiple work streams.

This role requires strong leadership and a track record of delivering on complex schedules and safety standards. Day-to-day duties include coordinating with subs, handling RFI and change orders, and supporting preconstruction efforts from bid strategy to

Qualifications

• Industry-related bachelor degree required; equivalent combinations may be considered.
• Minimum of seven years in construction project management.
• LEAN principles experience desired; OSHA 30 preferred or willing to obtain.
• Proficiency in MS Office; knowledge of JDE, Procore, Bluebeam, Asta or similar tools.

Responsibilities

• Understand contract terms and ensure work remains within scope.
• Own risk management and mitigation for assigned projects.
• Collaborate with teams to meet goals, build morale, and implement quality programs.
• Create and manage project schedules; update plans and address long lead items.
• Oversee safety plans, site compliance, RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
• Prepare monthly status reports, owner billings, and financial risk assessments.
• Lead proposals, marketing, and business development initiatives.
