Job summary

The Weitz Company / Contrack Watts, Inc. in Des Moines, IA is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager for its Industrial division.

You will lead multiple projects, oversee schedule and budget, manage change orders, and coordinate with owners and subcontractors to deliver high-quality results. Ideal candidates have at least five years of construction/PM experience, strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.

Qualifications

• Education: Industry-related college degree required; related experience considered.
• Experience: minimum five (5) years of construction experience including project management.
• Semiconductor experience preferred; ability to lead and mentor others.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and manage project schedule; identify long lead items; update project plan and changes.
• Negotiate and execute change orders, subcontracts and purchase orders.
• Complete monthly project status reports, owner billings and financial risk assessments.
• Identify value engineering and scope reduction opportunities.
• Ensure project safety plan is completed and communicated to team.
• Assist with preconstruction efforts.
• Manage buy-out process.
• Detect constructability issues with project design.
• Understand contract terms, budgets, insurances, bonds and change orders; ensure adherence.
• Recommend staff development needs, disciplinary actions, job assignments and promotions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
