Job summary

Kiewit is seeking Building Electrical Engineers with 3+ years of building design experience to create electrical systems for industrial and large commercial projects, from concept through construction administration. The role emphasizes safety, constructability, and cost awareness while delivering EPC and design/build solutions.

Responsibilities include lighting, power distribution, and related systems design, Revit modeling, and cross-discipline coordination.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Architectural Engineering.
• Minimum 3+ years of relevant electrical engineering experience in the building industry (NON-Residential).
• Experience with EPC and/or Design/Build projects is highly desired.
• Proficiency in Revit and Microsoft Office; experience with SKM or ETAP for load flow studies, arc flash, short circuit.
• Registration as a PE or plan to achieve within 6–18 months is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Developing building lighting, power and distribution designs.
• Perform Revit modeling and BIM coordination with other disciplines.
• Complete calculations for lighting, electrical loading, short circuit, voltage drop, and energy code compliance.
• Develop project building electrical specifications.
• Review bids, shop drawings, RFIs and construction punch lists.
• Coordinate with internal and external teams; mentor junior engineers.
• Perform design quality checks and lead portions of projects for senior engineers.
