Job summary

Kiewit is hiring Electrical Engineers (mid to senior) to design electrical systems for industrial and large commercial building projects by developing safe, code-compliant constructible electrical systems.

This role blends technical design, multidisciplinary coordination and construction-driven engineering, with opportunities to mentor junior engineers and advance within an employee-owned company that values excellence and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Architectural Engineering required.
• Minimum 7+ years of relevant electrical engineering experience in the building industry (NON-Residential) performing design functions and calculations; EPC/Design-Build experience highly desired.
• Solid understanding of the National Electrical Code, International Building Code, and energy codes.
• Must be proficient in Revit and Microsoft Office Suite; experience with SKM or ETAP for load flow studies, arc flash, short circuit.
• Proficiency in AGi32 software is a plus; strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop building lighting, power and distribution designs for diverse projects.
• Perform Revit modeling and drawing creation, coordinating with BIM staff.
• Complete calculations for lighting, electrical loading, short circuit, voltage drop, and energy code using SKM or ETAP.
• Develop project building electrical specifications.
• Perform bid reviews, shop drawing reviews, RFIs, and construction site punch lists.
• Coordinate with internal and external teams across groups.
• Provide mentoring and training for entry level engineers/interns.
• Perform quality checks of the design and engineering work.
• Senior engineers may lead portions of projects and guide junior engineers.
