Job summary
Kiewit is hiring a Building Electrical Engineer with 3+ years of experience to design electrical systems for industrial and large commercial buildings. The role covers lighting, power distribution, and related systems across EPC and Design/Build projects, with constructability and safety at the forefront.
You will collaborate with architects and multidisciplinary teams, perform modelings and calculations, and mentor junior engineers while potentially leading project segments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Architectural Engineering required.
- Minimum 3+ years of relevant electrical engineering experience in building industry performing design functions and calculations.
- Experience with EPC or Design/Build projects highly desired.
- Solid understanding of NEC, IBC, and energy codes.
- Must be proficient in Revit and Microsoft Office; experience with SKM or ETAP for load flow studies, arc flash.
Responsibilities
- Develop lighting, power and distribution designs for diverse buildings.
- Perform Revit modeling and BIM coordination.
- Complete calculations for lighting, electrical loading, short circuit, voltage drop and energy codes.
- Develop project electrical specifications.
- Review bids, shop drawings, RFIs and site punch lists.
- Coordinate projects with other groups and departments.
- Mentor entry level engineers and review work quality.
- Lead project portions for senior engineers when required.
