Job summary

Baker Group in Ankeny, IA is seeking an Industrial BIM/VDC Detailer II to lead the BIM team in developing 3D models, spools, and install drawings, and to mentor detailing staff and QA/QC against codes and contract documents.

You will collaborate with Project Managers, Field crews and design teams to ensure schedule alignment, accuracy, and compliance with project standards, while advancing our Client for Life philosophy.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years in the plumbing and steam fitting apprenticeship or equivalent experience.
• Five+ years of directly related detailing experience with 3+ years in leading detailing projects.
• Knowledge of P&IDs, PFDs, and process piping.
• Plumbing and hydronic license or equivalent; valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership on detailing projects from kickoff through completion.
• Review and markup spool drawings, BIM models, and construction drawings for accuracy.
• Manage detailing deliverables to meet schedules and quality expectations.
• Develop and maintain project specifications and piping requirements to support fabrication and installation.
• Lead and mentor detailing team members.
• Communicate with Project Managers, Engineers, Field Foremen and others during construction.
• Attend industry courses and share knowledge with peers.
