Job summary

Baker Group in Ankeny, IA is seeking an Industrial BIM/VDC Technician I to support the project team by developing 3D equipment models, producing spools and install drawings, and assisting with project coordination.

You’ll work with Revit and AutoCAD, collaborate with designers and field teams, and help maintain the BIM database. A two-year degree and 1 year of AutoCAD experience are required; Plant 3D and Navisworks are a plus.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent required.
• Minimum 1 year of AutoCAD experience.
• Experience with Revit and Navisworks preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Develop 3D models and basic building components using Revit and AutoCAD.
• Perform light modeling tasks to support design and coordination.
• Create detailed construction drawings, including install and spool drawings.
• Generate Bills of Material (BOM) to support project needs.
• Use Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) for documentation and communication.
• Collaborate with team members to meet project deliverables and deadlines.
• Visit job sites to perform laser scans and update BIM model.
