Job summary

UPS is seeking an entry-level to early-career engineer to direct and coordinate the design, fabrication, installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical, electrical, and automation equipment and systems in industrial environments.

The role focuses on optimizing automated operations, evaluating equipment performance, and ensuring safety, quality, and regulatory compliance while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, mechatronics, industrial engineering, automation engineering, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Entry-level to early career professional engineering experience; internship, co-op, or project experience in automation is beneficial.
• Experience supporting industrial equipment, automation systems, conveying systems, controls, or electrical infrastructure preferred.
• Must be available for full-time employment.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, implement, and support mechanical, electrical, and automation systems within operational and industrial environments.
• Coordinate fabrication, installation, startup, operation, maintenance, and repair of machinery, equipment, controls, motors, conveyors, and automated systems.
• Support electrical system design and maintenance activities, including power distribution, wiring, lighting systems, motors, drives, and control systems.
• Analyze equipment performance and recommend modifications to improve reliability, productivity, efficiency, and safety.
• Assist in the planning and execution of engineering projects, equipment upgrades, and automation initiatives.
• Develop technical specifications, drawings, documentation, and standard operating procedures.
• Evaluate automation technologies, conveying systems, operational methods, and workflow procedures to identify optimization opportunities.
• Provide technical guidance and share engineering knowledge with team members and business partners.
