Job summary

SunSource’s Automation & Factory Solutions (AFS) unit seeks an Outside Sales Account Manager to grow our Southeast Michigan territory. You’ll act as a trusted consultant to identify the right automation products and solutions, build relationships, and develop new accounts.

You will collaborate with inside sales, engineering, and service teams to deliver demonstrations, implement solutions, and drive long‑term growth while representing cutting‑edge industrial automation technologies.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related area preferred.
• 3+ years experience in B2B technical sales related to industrial automation or related electrical controls and products.

Responsibilities

• Own and execute a territory-based strategy focused on winning new customer accounts.
• Build and maintain a strong pipeline of prospects using outbound prospecting and digital engagement.
• Conduct onsite and virtual sales calls to provide technical consultation, product demos, and recommendations based on customer needs.
• Partner with Inside Sales teams to document call activity, manage opportunities, and develop quotes.
• Develop a thorough understanding of core product lines and their proper application.
