Job summary

CBRE Global Workplace Solutions (GWS) seeks an Automation Engineer to support automated material handling equipment, PLC-controlled systems, and SCADA networks. You will help optimize reliability and performance across conveyors and sortation systems, working with cross-functional teams in a safety-focused environment.

The role requires hands-on debugging, vendor coordination, and strong problem-solving.eligible candidates should be able to work varied shifts and communicate clearly with project

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred with 2–5 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in at least two engineering design cycles including specification, component selection and programming.
• 2+ years of experience with PLC programs.
• 2+ years of experience with robotics system components and controls.
• 2+ years of experience with SCADA systems.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and modify software for material handling control systems.
• Act as first level escalation in troubleshooting on-site and remotely.
• Inspect systems to ensure operation within design specs.
• Oversee development scope and inspection of outside contractors.
• Engineer process solutions and reliability improvements.
• Monitor industrial networks such as Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet, Profibus, AS-I.
• Communicate with stakeholders about issues and timelines.
