Job summary

Vitro Flat Glass/Architectural is seeking an Automation & Control Engineer to design, implement, and continuously improve PLC-based control systems within a 24/7 glass manufacturing environment. You will troubleshoot automation and instrumentation, lead integration of new equipment, and support capital projects to boost reliability and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
• 2–5 years of controls, automation, process-control, or manufacturing engineering experience preferred.
• Manufacturing or heavy industrial experience strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated experience programming and troubleshooting industrial PLC systems.
• Experience with Rockwell/Allen-Bradley and/or Modicon platforms preferred.
• Experience with VFDs, industrial instrumentation, process-control systems, and automated manufacturing equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, modify, and troubleshoot PLC-based control systems (Rockwell/AB and/or Modicon).
• Troubleshoot automation, electrical controls, VFDs, instrumentation, and process-control systems.
• Analyze processes and equipment performance to improve reliability, quality, yield, safety, and productivity.
• Integrate new equipment and automation technologies with plant systems.
• Lead or support installation, testing, commissioning, and debugging of equipment.
