KLA Industries, Inc. is seeking an Electrical Application Engineer who thrives on solving complex technical problems in real-world industrial settings. The role blends engineering, sales, product development, and customer interaction, from concept through installation and ongoing support.

You will develop expertise in our products, partner with sales to meet customer needs, and design manufacturable solutions that meet rigorous specifications. Travel ~10% and field startup experience are valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related discipline.
• 5+ years of technical field or applications engineering experience.
• Experience in oil & gas, mining, power generation, heavy industrial, or similar environments.
• Familiarity with sensor technologies, industrial monitoring systems, electronics, and network communications.
• Working knowledge of Modbus, 4–20mA, relay logic, and other common industrial protocols.
• Understanding of hazardous locations, classifications, and equipment ratings.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to translate complex technical information for customers and non-technical audiences.
• Strong technical writing and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop deep product and application expertise across industrial markets.
• Collaborate with sales to understand customer requirements and propose technical solutions.
• Translate customer needs into manufacturable system and product solutions.
• Configure standard products to meet application requirements.
• Design customized solutions using internal and third-party technologies.
• Perform engineering calculations to support product selection and recommendations.
• Act as primary technical contact for customers throughout sales and implementation.
• Communicate capabilities and concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
• Create application drawings, specifications, and training materials.
• Support design, testing, installation, commissioning, and startup activities.
• Troubleshoot equipment in the field, over the phone, and via email support.
• Provide technical training to customers and sales teams.
• Test new/existing equipment to verify performance vs. specs.
• Provide feedback to engineering on product performance and field issues.
• Assist in design and development of new products and enhancements.
• Coordinate outside engineering resources when needed.
• Join customer visits with sales and participate in technical presentations.
