The SALT Consulting tax department handles multi-state sales and use tax, nexus analysis and tax technology implementations; the ideal candidate balances high-level consulting with hands-on software config and exemption management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent from an accredited university.
• 4-5 years' experience in state and local sales and use tax consulting.
• CPA candidacy or CMI in sales tax preferred.
• Avalara CIP certification or equivalent.
• Experience with Avalara, Vertex, and tax software implementations.
• Exemption Certificate Management experience.
• Ecommerce and ERP experience (NetSuite, Business Central, QBO, Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce).
• Strong analytical, problem solving, organizational and communication skills; proficient MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Assist with nationwide nexus studies for sales tax, income tax, and other tax types.
• Assist with nationwide risk assessments quantifying exposure.
• Assist clients with indirect tax engine evaluation and selection.
• Oversee complex sales tax system implementations across ERP/Ecommerce platforms.
• Assist with voluntary disclosure projects.
• Prepare memoranda on state and local tax issues and taxability.
• Maintain active client communication and deliver timely service.
