Job summary

PayPal Inc. in Scottsdale, AZ is seeking an experienced Indirect Tax Manager to lead tax advisory, audit support, and technical analysis across sales & use tax, personal property tax, and gross receipts tax for PayPal and its US affiliates.

The role partners with Tax, Finance, Legal, Product, and AP to manage audits, monitor evolving tax developments, and deliver timely guidance on indirect tax for new products and business initiatives. 8+ years required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 7+ years of indirect tax experience, with demonstrated expertise in sales & use tax; prefer mix of Big 4/national accounting firm experience and in-house corporate tax roles.
• Advanced proficiency in indirect tax research tools (Vertex, CCH IRD, RIA Checkpoint, or equivalent)
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines

Responsibilities

• Oversee tax matters across multiple jurisdictions.
• Lead or support audits and interactions with tax authorities.
• Provide timely, accurate tax guidance and technical analysis to Finance, Product, and Business stakeholders on indirect tax implications of new products and business initiatives.
• Coordinate with external tax consultants and internal teams (Accounting, Finance, Legal) to resolve audit findings.
