Job summary

Safeguard Global is recruiting a hands-on India Payroll Specialist to own end-to-end India payroll delivery and support payroll operations across select APAC countries. You will demonstrate deep payroll expertise, statutory knowledge, and greytHR proficiency while driving process improvements.

The ideal candidate will manage the full payroll cycle, ensure regulatory compliance, lead audits and reporting, and partner with HR, Finance, vendors, and auditors to maintain governance.

Qualifications

• End-to-end India payroll experience is required.
• Strong knowledge of India payroll regulations (PF/EPF, ESI, Professional Tax, LWF, TDS, gratuity, etc.).
• Proficient in greytHR configuration, testing, UAT and changes.
• Advanced Excel skills (XLOOKUP, INDEX-MATCH, Pivot Tables, SUMIFS).
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage full India payroll cycle, validations, reconciliations, payments, year-end activities, and employee support.
• Ensure compliance with India payroll regulations and statutory reporting.
• Own payroll controls, audits, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
• Act as payroll SME for greytHR, leading configuration requests, testing, UAT and improvements.
• Partner with HR, Finance, vendors and auditors to resolve payroll issues and governance.
• Coordinate payroll activities with third-party providers across APAC countries.
• Develop reporting, dashboards and automation-enabled processes using Excel.
