The New York Foundling is seeking a Direct Support Professional to provide one-on-one assistance to persons with special needs in our community-based programs. You will develop personalized plans to help participants live more independently within their community.

Competenze

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 1+ years of experience with individuals with developmental disabilities.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; empathetic and patient.
• Commitment to safety and advocacy for disability rights.

Mansioni

• Develop and implement personalized habilitation plans to promote skill development and independence in daily living activities.
• Facilitate community-based outings, social activities, and educational opportunities to promote inclusion and enhance social skills.
• Provide hands-on training in communication, self-care, household management, and vocational skills.
• Track participant progress, document outcomes, and prepare progress reports to measure goals achievement and inform future planning.
• Advocate for the rights and inclusion of persons with developmental disabilities within the community.
