Job summary

Malama Health is expanding its doula provider network in New York and is looking for experienced birth doulas to support pregnant and postpartum Medicaid members. As a Malama doula, you will remain an independent practitioner while Malama supports the administrative side of working with health insurance, including provider enrollment, credentialing, billing, and payment.

Qualifications

• Experienced birth doula practicing in New York.
• Approved for the NY Doula Registry, or eligible and willing to complete the registration process.
• Willing to complete applicable New York Medicaid and health-plan enrollment and credentialing requirements.
• Experience providing prenatal, labor, and postpartum support.

Responsibilities

• Provide non-clinical prenatal, labor/birth, and postpartum doula support.
• Provide culturally responsive emotional, informational, and physical support aligned with each member’s preferences and needs.
• Maintain timely and accurate documentation of services.
• Follow applicable privacy, documentation, quality, and payer requirements.
• Coordinate with Malama’s care team when a member needs support outside the doula scope of practice.
