Job summary

Chicago Public Schools is seeking a Diverse Learners Teacher to support students with diverse needs under the supervision of the school principal.

You will set goals for individualized education plans, collaborate with case managers, counselors, and general education teachers to tailor instruction and promote student wellbeing.

A valid Illinois teaching license with the appropriate endorsement and a bachelor’s degree are required, and CPS online application is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution.
• Illinois State Board of Education teaching license with appropriate endorsement.

Responsibilities

• Instruct, progress monitor, track, and manage behavior of students in assigned classes.
• Set goals for individualized education plans aligned to Illinois IEP guidelines.
• Collaborate with case managers, counselors, and general education teachers to address instructional and social needs.
• Create a respectful classroom environment that values diversity and equitable instruction.
• Maintain professional communication with administration, families, and students.
