Job summary

Caddo Parish School District is seeking a Paraprofessional-Inclusion/Resource/Self-Contained to support teaching staff in elementary and secondary classrooms.

Responsibilities include assisting students with disabilities, implementing the classroom plan, using IEP accommodations, monitoring progress, and maintaining confidentiality under FERPA. The position requires close collaboration with teachers and adherence to district policies, with a 170-day contract.

Qualifications

• Must have earned a high school diploma or its equivalent.
• Associate degree or higher (official transcripts required).
• 48 hours of college with six hours of Math and nine hours of English (official transcripts required).
• Ability to read and interpret documents; write routine reports and communicate effectively.
• Ability to speak before groups of students and parents.

Responsibilities

• Works with students with disabilities in all educational settings individually and/or groups to provide instructional support.
• Implements the instructional plan as developed with the classroom teacher as it pertains to the core curriculum.
• Monitors and adjusts the instructional plan based on student needs; conveys accurate information.
• Implements strategies and accommodations as developed with the classroom teacher for the student’s IEP and health plans.
• Maintains confidentiality of student information; assists in health procedures and safety monitoring.
• Assists in supervising study areas, cafeterias, halls, and trips; supports teachers and staff as needed.
