Job summary

ACCEL Schools Northwest School of the Arts in Cleveland, OH is seeking an Intervention Specialist to support students with IEPs, collaborate with teachers, and implement behavior plans. The role emphasizes inclusive instruction, diagnostic assessments, and family communications.

You will participate in IEP meetings, write goals, and help meet district and state achievement targets while integrating culturally responsive teaching practices.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of State Standards and Common Core Standards.
• Experience in full room inclusion or Co-Teaching in a Resource Room model.
• Growth-focused coaching with frequent observations, debriefs, action planning, and progress monitoring.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Word and Outlook.
• Excellent organization and time management skills.
• Ability to pass FBI/BCI background checks.
• Experience in multicultural settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with classroom teachers to interpret abilities and disabilities and modify curricula as needed.
• Conduct diagnostic assessments for instruction.
• Conduct functional behavior assessments and write behavior plans.
• Facilitate IEP meetings and write IEP goals.
• Work toward student achievement and culture goals and state targets.
• Apply research-based teaching practices and culturally responsive strategies.
• Serve as advisor to a group of students and communicate with families.
• Support planning of non-instructional activities and field trips.
