Job summary

DC Prep is seeking an Interventionist Lead Teacher in Washington, DC starting in August 2026. This full-time, 10-month role focuses on leading instruction, planning with rigor, and adapting our standards-based curriculum to meet diverse learners’ needs.

You will analyze data to guide instruction, participate in weekly professional development, and collaborate with a team to ensure strong outcomes for students in inclusive classrooms with SPED/ELL supports.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of lead teaching or special education in an urban public school with a track record of high student achievement highly preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree from a competitive college or university; concentration or advanced degree in education preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan thoughtfully and teach joyously by adapting a rigorous, standards-based curriculum to meet student needs.
• Analyze academic and classroom culture data to inform instruction and target focus areas.
• Participate in weekly professional development opportunities and feedback conversations.
• Collaborate with colleagues to plan daily and troubleshoot problems.
• Support inclusion classrooms with SPED/ELL interventions and maintain strong family relationships.
