DC Prep seeks a dedicated Middle School Social Studies Teacher for 7th–8th grade in Washington, DC, to deliver engaging, standards-based instruction. The role emphasizes academic rigor, SEL integration, and a strong commitment to equity in education.

You will plan and co-teach in a team setting, use data to drive instruction, and contribute to a culture of high expectations and continuous improvement. Start date: August 2026, full-time, 10-month schedule.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of lead teaching experience in an urban public school with a record of high student achievement highly preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree from a competitive college or university required. Concentration or advanced degree in education preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan thoughtfully and teach standards-based social studies to 7th–8th graders.
• Use data to inform instruction and target focus areas for students.
• Collaborate with colleagues to plan and deliver rigorous, engaging instruction.
• Contribute to a school culture that supports student achievement and equity.
