Job summary

Boston Public Schools seeks an exceptional Special Education Inclusion teacher to join our community of teachers, learners, and leaders. This is a long-term substitute role beginning 09/23/2026 and ending 05/03/2027, with per diem pay and district expectations aligned to BPS standards.

The position supports students with moderate to severe cognitive delays in the general curriculum through targeted instruction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Massachusetts teaching license in appropriate content area and Moderate Disabilities for the appropriate grade level required.
• ESL license or SEI endorsement required.
• Must meet state and federal guidelines to be fully licensed and Highly Qualified.
• Authorization to work in the United States by first day of employment.

Responsibilities

• Implement district learning goals aligned with state frameworks and identify access points for student portfolio development.
• Provide small-group instruction to students with moderate to severe cognitive delays.
• Write and implement goals and objectives from IEPs and provide regular progress reports.
• Provide accommodations for learning and testing; develop curriculum and assess student work for MCAS Alternative.
• Collaborate with school staff to support modification needs for students.
• Provide assistance to transition to adult living services when appropriate.
