Job summary

Boston Public Schools seeks a Special Education Social Studies Inclusion teacher with an SEI endorsement for a long-term substitute assignment in the Boston Public Schools system. The role focuses on serving students in a structured, inclusive setting and requires collaboration with the school’s leadership and staff to meet district objectives.

Starting date is 09/22/2026 and ends 10/30/2026, with per diem subs at the outset and progression toward district standards and IEP implementation.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required.
Massachusetts Teaching License in appropriate content area and Moderate Disabilities for the appropriate grade level.
Meet all state and federal guidelines to be fully licensed and Highly Qualified.
Authorization to work in the United States by first day of employment.

Responsibilities

Implement district learning goals aligned with state frameworks and identify access points for student portfolio development.
Provide small-group instruction to students with moderate to severe cognitive delays to support general curriculum progress.
Write and implement IEP goals and provide timely progress reports on student development.
Provide accommodations for learning and testing; develop curriculum and prepare for MCAS Alternative Assessment progress.
Collaborate with school staff to support modifications for student needs.
Assist with transition to adult living services as appropriate.
