Job summary

Anthropic is seeking an experienced Technical Program Manager to own and evolve incident management within the Detection & Response (D&R) team. You’ll drive the end-to-end incident lifecycle—from detection and triage through containment, remediation, and post-incident review—coordinating across engineering, security, infrastructure, and product teams to implement broad fixes and systemic improvements.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in technical program management, incident management, or security operations, with significant time in a detection & response context.
  • Led or built incident response programs at a technology company, ideally in high-growth or security-intensive environments.
  • Experience turning incident data into organizational improvements and driving cross-functional fixes.
  • Comfortable with on-call responsibilities and leading incident response during high-severity events, including off-hours.
  • Built and scaled operational processes from the ground up in environments with little prior structure.
  • Strong analytical skills with incident trend analysis and data-driven prioritization.
  • Highly organized with the ability to bring structure to fast-moving, ambiguous situations.
  • Excellent communication skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders, including executives.

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end D&R incident management program: detection workflows, response processes, escalation paths, communication standards, and remediation tracking.
  • Serve as incident commander for security incidents, coordinating across engineering, security, legal, and other stakeholders.
  • Establish incident commander rotations and ensure clear ownership during incidents of varying severity.
  • Drive post-incident accountability by capturing, tracking, and completing action items across teams.
  • Gather and report incident trends to surface systemic risks and root causes.
  • Translate trend analysis into cross-functional initiatives and broad preventive improvements.
  • Lead post-mortems and ensure learnings are socialized and acted upon.
  • Develop and maintain D&R incident response playbooks, runbooks, and training materials.
