Job summary

The University of Maryland, College Park is seeking an inaugural Manager, Labor Relations within the UHR Labor Relations team. The Manager will supervise a team of Labor Relations Consultants and provide professional support to the Program Director, Labor Relations.

The role will foster positive relationships with labor unions, resolve union disputes, and ensure compliance with labor laws, regulations and collective bargaining agreements in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and applicable laws.
• Knowledge of employment laws and collective bargaining.
• Ability to manage complex labor relations cases and advise stakeholders.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a team of Labor Relations Consultants.
• Provide professional support to the Program Director, Labor Relations.
• Foster positive relationships with labor unions and leadership.
• Ensure compliance with labor laws, regulations, and CBAs; resolve disputes.
