Job summary

University of Maryland, College Park is seeking an experienced Labor Relations Consultant within the University Human Resources Labor Relations team. You will support the Program Director, foster positive relationships with labor unions, and help resolve disputes while ensuring compliance with labor laws and collective bargaining agreements.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree and at least five years of HR experience in employee or labor relations, with additional education substitutes

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Five (5) years of professional HR experience in employee or labor relations.
• Additional work experience may substitute on a year-for-year basis up to four (4) years of education.

Responsibilities

• Support the Program Director in all aspects of labor relations.
• Build and maintain positive working relationships with labor unions.
• Resolve union disputes and negotiate agreements.
• Ensure compliance with labor laws, regulations and collective bargaining agreements.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
