University of Maryland seeks a Labor Relations Program Director in University Human Resources. This role partners with managers and union leadership to maintain constructive relations, oversee bargaining processes, and advance MOUs and employment law compliance.

The position reports to the Director of UHR Workforce Relations and includes supervising staff, with a focus on crisis situations and proactive communication across campuses and systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Ten (10) years of professional experience in labor relations or collective bargaining.
• Five (5) years of experience supervising or managing professional staff.

Responsibilities

• Build strong relationships between management and unions to minimize conflicts.
• Manage the collective bargaining agreements and negotiations at local and system levels.
• Develop education and training on MOUs and labor/employment laws.
• Supervise staff and oversee staff positions within the Labor Relations program.
