Job summary

Michaels in Akron, OH is seeking an Event Coordinator to plan and execute children’s birthday parties and craft classes within the store. You’ll deliver friendly customer service, help guests shop, and ensure fast, smooth checkout experiences while supporting store operations.

Responsibilities include coordinating events, instructing participants, managing add-ons, and communicating with clients and team members.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate events at Michaels stores, including children’s parties and craft classes.
• Engage clients of all ages by creating a fun and creative environment.
• Demonstrate and instruct party participants in craft projects and activities.
• Facilitate party add-ons such as goody bags and balloons to company standards.
• Communicate events with clients and store team members; handle emails and calls.
• Adapt plans based on client feedback; create backup or emergency event plans.
• Ensure client satisfaction and uphold cleanliness and safety standards.
• Cross train in Custom Framing selling and production; support store tasks as needed.
