Job summary

Michaels is seeking an Event Coordinator to plan, coordinate and facilitate events inside the store, including children’s birthday parties and other crafts. You’ll ensure guests have a fun, engaging and stress‑free experience while helping customers shop and find what they need.

In addition to friendly customer service and fast checkout, you’ll perform store tasks such as truck unload, merchandise duties and maintaining store recovery standards.

Qualifications

• Energetic and enthusiastic personality required.
• Excellent people skills essential for guest interactions.
• Experience working with children and children’s events preferred.
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
• Good organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Retail or customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate multiple events at once including children’s birthday parties and other craft classes or events.
• Engage with clients of all ages to create a fun and creative environment.
• Demonstrate and instruct party participants in crafts and activities.
• Facilitate add-ons like goody bags and balloons to company standards.
• Communicate events with clients and store team members.
• Handle administrative tasks such as emails, calls, and paperwork.
• Adjust plans based on client feedback and needs; create backup plans.
• Ensure client satisfaction and uphold cleanliness and safety standards.
