Job summary

Floor & Decor seeks a Design Consultant to engage customers on the sales floor, lead design appointments for tile, wood, stone and accessories, and partner with store leadership to grow the design services brand.

This entry-level role requires 1+ year of retail or customer service experience, a high school diploma or GED, basic math and computer literacy, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Internal candidates with 6+ months at Floor & Decor are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of retail or customer service experience.
• High school diploma and/or GED.
• Proficient in basic mathematical skills.
• Must be self-motivated and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office suite.
• Internal candidates a minimum of 6 months with Floor & Decor.

Responsibilities

• Greet store customers in a helpful manner and support design walk-in needs.
• Schedule design appointments for existing and potential customers, while developing clientele through networking and referrals, as well as leads generated within the store.
• Provide tile, wood, stone and accessories advice to homeowners, interior designers, and builders for both residential and commercial projects.
• Design and sell complete, functional and aesthetically appealing solutions.
• Manage multiple, simultaneous customer projects through all phases with a high level of accuracy, timeliness and follow-up including concise communication to customers and others.
• Collaborate with store leadership and employees to manage projects from inquiry to installation, and achieve sales and other goals.
• Enthusiastically support all company initiatives and goals by modeling and coaching best practices with store employees.
• Responsible for understanding and utilizing design applications i.e.; Salesforce, proprietary Online Design Appointment Scheduler, and MyProject.
